Why are wood oils important?
There are two main types of finishes that can be found on wooden floors: lacquer and oil. The former typically has a glossy sheen, while the latter generally has a more natural, matt appearance and is easier to maintain and repair.
In most cases, oiled floors will need to have a coating of wood oil applied immediately after installation, and then approximately every six months thereafter, depending on the amount of wear they receive.
